Sushma Verma, gadis cilik asal Uttar Pradesh, India ini benar-benar jenius. Saat usianya masih 7 tahun, Sushma sudah lulus dari SMA. Enam tahun kemudian, ia mampu menyelesaikan S1. Kini, Sushma sedang melanjutkan pendidikan S2 di B. R. Ambedkar Central University.
Sushma Verma, a little girl from Uttar Pradesh, India is a real genius. When she was 7 years old, Sushma graduated from high school. Six years later, she is able to complete her Bachelors degree. Currently, Sushma is continuing her Masters at the B.R. Ambedkar Central University.
Sushma bukanlah orang kaya. Ayahnya, Tej Bahadur Verma bekerja sebagai kuli bangunan dengan upah kurang dari 3,5 Dollar Amerika atau sekitar Rp 40 ribu. Kondisi yang memperihatinkan tersebut justru dijadikan motivasi bagi Sushma. “Tidak ada yang bisa dilakukan selain belajar,” ujar Sushma dikutip dari news.com.au.
Sushma isn’t from a wealthy family. Her father, Tej Bahadur Verma, works as a construction worker with a wage less than USD 3.5 or around IDR 40,000 per day. Sushma managed to made her living in poverty as a motivation. “There’s nothing much I can do except studying,” Sushma told news.com.au.
Ternyata kakak Sushma yang bernama Syailendra juga jenius, kids! Syailendra lulus dari SMA pada usia 9 tahun dan meraih gelar sarjana di usia 14 tahun. Keduanya didukung penuh oleh Tej Bahadur.
Sushma’s older brother, Syailendra, is also a genius, kids! Syailendra graduated high school at the age of 9, and received his Bachelors at the age of 14. Both are fully supported by Tej Bahadur.
Tej Bahadur bahkan harus rela menjual tanah miliknya untuk membiayai kuliah Sushma. Sebuah lembaga sosial juga turut membantu membiayai kuliah gadis jenius ini.
Tej Bahadur had to let go of the land he owned to finance Sushma’s college. A social institution has also helped to finance this genius girl’s college tuition.
