“Ayo, Beru! Semangat!” seru Ruru. (One day, Ruru the fox goes to the river to freshen up. In the river, he sees Beru the bear trying to catch some fish. “Come on, Beru! You can do it!” exclaims Ruru.)

Hup! Hup! Ikan yang akan ditangkap Beru meloncat menghindar. Syuuut! Pluk! Beru berhasil menangkap ikan itu dengan tangannya. “Horeee!” seru Ruru gembira. (Hop! Hop! The fish Beru is about to catch takes an evasive leap. Shoot! Pop! Beru manages to catch the fish in his paws. “Hurray!” says Beru in joy.)

(Ruru and Beru then rest under a large tree. The breeze blows gently…and finally Ruru and Beru fell asleep.)

“Wah, kita tertidur!” seru Beru. “Brrr…udara mulai dingin!” kata Ruru. “Makan anggur dapat membuat badan kita hangat,” Beru punya ide. “Ayo, kita mencari anggur!” Ruru menjadi semangat. (The two buddies are awake as the sun begins to set. “Wow, we fell asleep!” says Beru. “Brrr…the air is getting colder!” Ruru replies. “Eating some grapes can keep us warm,” Beru comes up with an idea. “Come, let’s get some grapes!” asks the excited Ruru.)

“Lihat buahnya! Segar!” bisik Ruru. Beru mengangguk setuju.(After a long walk, Ruru and Beru finally find several grapes on their vine, way up high. “Look at the fruits! They’re fresh!” whispers Ruru. Beru nods to concur. )

“Tapi…tinggi sekali….apakah aku bisa meraihnya?” keluh Ruru. Ruru melompat tinggi. “Huh! Gagal!” serunya. Ruru mencoba lagi dan lagi tetapi selalu gagal. “Bagaimana ini?” tanya Ruru pada Beru. (“But…it’s so high…will I be able to reach it?” says Ruru in doubt. Ruru jumps high. “Ouch! Fail!” he exclaims. Ruru tries over and over but he keeps on failing. “What are we going to do?” Ruru asks Beru.)

(Beru tries to reach the grapes with his hands, but… “Be careful, Beru! Your sharp claws will ruin the tiny grapes!” exclaims Ruru. Beru then stops his effort to get the grapes down.)

“Aku punya ide! Beru menggendong Ruru. “Horeee! Kita hampir berhasil!” seru Ruru. Tiba-tiba…kluk! “Aduh, kakiku!” seru Beru kesakitan. Kaki Beru tiba-tiba terkilir! (“I have an idea! You can carry me on your shoulder and I will try to reach for the grapes!” Ruru tells Beru. Beru then carries Ruru. “Hurray! We’re almost there!” Ruru explains. Suddenly…clank! “Ouch, my leg!” Beru shouts in pain. Beru sprained his leg!)

(Eventually, Ruru and Beru are forced to give up. They are very sad and upset that they couldn’t get the grapes. An owl then flies to them and says, “Don’t be disappointed for not getting the grapes. Those grapes are fakes! An evil poacher set a trap to catch you!”)

(Ruru and Beru startle! “Wow, our failure was in fact a protection from the Almighty!” exclaim Ruru and Beru. “True, we can keep trying but it by the Almighty’s will our fates be decided, because He knows what’s best!” explains the wise owl.)
