Pada suatu masa, ada seorang putri raja pemberani bernama Abi. Setiap orang yang ketakutan selalu datang meminta pertolongan padanya. Suatu hari, seorang nelayan datang menemui Putri Abi. “Putri, ketika badai datang, kapalku pernah terdampar di suatu pulau, bernama Pulau Tanpa Tidur. Di pulau itu, penduduknya tidak mau tidur karena mimpi indah mereka telah dicuri,” cerita si nelayan dengan iba. “Tolonglah mereka, Tuan Putri. Kekuatanku tidak cukup untuk menghadapi si pencuri mimpi,” pintanya. ( Once upon a time, lived a brave royal princess named Abi. Every person in fear would ask her for help. One day, a fisherman came to Princess Abi. “Princess, when the storm came, my boat ran aground in an island called Sleepless Island. The people living on the island refuse to sleep because their sweet dreams have been stolen,” tells the fisherman. “Please help them, Princess. For my strength are puny against the dream catcher,” he asks.)
Hati Putri Abi tergerak oleh ketulusan si nelayan. “Jangan khawatir. Aku akan menolong penduduk pulau itu,” janji Putri Abi. “Putri, ambillah jaring ikan ini. Mungkin suatu saat berguna,” kata si nelayan. “Terima kasih, nelayan yang baik,” jawab Putri Abi. Sebagai gantinya, Putri Abi memberikan peti berisi emas untuk si nelayan. ( Princess Abi’s heart is moved by the fisherman’s sincerity. “Don’t worry. I will help the island’s inhabitants,” promises Princess Abi. “Princess, please take this fishnet with you. It may come in handy,” says the Fisherman. “Thank you, kind fisherman,” replies Princess Abi. In return, Princess Abi gives a chest of gold to the fisherman.)
Dengan petunjuk si nelayan, Putri Abi pergi ke Pulau Tanpa Tidur. Pulau itu ditutupi kabut dan harus berhati-hati menjelajahinya. Tiba-tiba, kabut menipis dan sesosok macan ekor kumbang besar muncul. ( Following the fisherman’s lead, Princess Abi lands on Sleepless Island. The island is covered in mist so she has to explore carefully. Suddenly, the mist fades and a large panther appears.)
“Aku merasa tidak bahagia. Oleh karena itu, kuambil mimpi indah penduduk di pulau ini,” ungkap si macan dengan wajah murung. “Mengapa kau tidak bahagia?” tanya Putri Abi. “Aku sendirian di pulau ini. Tidak ada yang mau berteman denganku,” jawabnya sedih. “Ikutlah denganku ke istana. Aku mau jadi temanmu. Sebagai gantinya, kembalikan mimpi-mimpi indah yang kau curi dari penduduk,” pinta Putri Abi. (“I am unhappy. That is why I grabbed all sweet dreams from the people of this island,” says the gloomy panther. “Why are you not happy?” asks Princess Abi. “I am alone in this island. No one wants to be my friend,” he replies in tears. “Come with me to the palace. I will be your friend. In return, bring back all the sweet dreams you took from the people,” asks Princess Abi.)
Kemudian, si macan membuka mulutnya, dan keluarlah bola-bola cahaya mimpi indah. Namun, tiba-tiba angin kencang berhembus dan meniup bola-bola cahaya itu. Putri Abi melempar jala ikan ke arah bola-bola cahaya itu agar tidak terbawa angin. (Then, the panther opens his mouth, and the sweet dreams come out in balls of light. But, suddenly the strong wind gusts the balls of light away. Princess Abi casts the fishnet toward to the balls of light so they don’t drift away.)
“Kembalilah pada pemilik kalian,” tutur Putri Abi. Berkat bantuan Sang Putri, Pulau Tanpa Tidur kini menjadi Pulau Mimpi Indah. ( “Go back to your owners,” says Princess Abi. Thanks to the help of the Princess, Sleepless Island has changed its name to Sweet Dreams Island.)
