Negeri putih nun jauh di atas awan, masih merupakan misteri bagi masyarakat Bumi Aloska. Mereka takut menyebutkan nama negeri tersebut karena barang siapa yang berani menyebutkannya maka akan celaka. ( The white land above the clouds is a mystery for the people of Terra Aloska. They fear of even mentioning the name for word has it that those who do will be stricken with misfortune.)
Beberapa puluh tahun setelah mitos tersebut melegenda, lahirlah seorang lelaki dari masyarakat biasa bernama Palopa. Palopa tumbuh menjadi laki-laki dewasa yang tangguh dan pemberani.(Decades later after the myth grew into a legend, a peasant boy is born. His name is Palopa. Palopa grow up to be a brave and tough man.)
Suatu hari, Palopa mendengar legenda negeri putih itu. “Ayah, kenapa semua orang di Bumi Aloska tidak mau memberi tahu aku nama negeri putih itu?” tanya Palopa bingung. Ayahnya hanya bisa menggelengkan kepala. (One day, Palopa heard the legend of the white land. “Father, why is everyone in Terra Aloska refuses to tell me the name of the white land?” Palopa asks curiously. His father can only shake his head.)
Palopa pun bertekad mencari sendiri nama negeri putih tersebut dengan mendatanginya. Ia mendaki sebuah gunung yang paling tinggi di Bumi Aloska hingga beberapa minggu. (Palopa is then determined to look for the name himself by visiting it. He climbs the highest mountain in Terra Aloska for weeks.)
Pada minggu ke-15, akhirnya Palopa mencapai puncak gunung tertinggi itu. “Dataran yang cukup luas dengan kanan kiri dikelilingi awan putih. Dataran ini seperti Negeri Atas Awan,” gumam Palopa kagum. “Inilah negeri putih yang kau ingin tahu, wahai anak muda,” terdengar suara menggema. (On the 15th week, Palopa reaches the mountain summit. “A land vast enough surrounded by white clouds. I believe this is the Land Above the Clouds,” says Palopa, amused. “This is the white land you seek to discover, young man,” an echoing voice is heard.)
“Siapa kau, apa nama negeri ini?” tanya Palopa semakin penasaran. “Ini Negeri Atas Awan Tepuis, ini negerinya para Dewa. Kau adalah manusia beruntung yang bisa menjejakkan kaki ke negeri ini. Setiap orang yang bisa sampai ke negeri ini adalah orang yang memiliki hati suci dan berjiwa ksatria. Kelak kau akan menjadi seorang raja,” ujar suara gema itu kembali. “Pulanglah anak muda, aku hanya bisa membekalimu dengan sebutir biji buah anggur. Biji anggur ini kelak kau bisa gunakan untuk menyembuhkan orang terkenal,” jelas suara gema itu. (“Who are you? What is the name of this land?” Palopa asks, now even more curious. “This is Tepuis, the Land Above the Clouds, the land of the Gods. You are a fortunate mortal to be able to set foot in this land. Everyone who reaches this land must be of pure heart and chivalrous. You will one day be a king,” the echoing voice replies. “Go home young man, I can only give this grape seed. This grape seed will one day be used to cure a prominent person,” the voice explains.)
Beberapa bulan kemudian, Palopa berjalan ke danau terbesar di Bumi Aloska. Ia bertemu seorang gadis yang sedang bersedih. Ternyata, gadis tersebut adalah putri kesayangan Raja Aloska.“Tuan Putri, kenapa menangis?” tanya Palopa. “Ayahku sedang kritis, ia terbaring sakit di tempat tidurnya. Semua tabib yang datang, tak ada yang bisa mengobatinya,” ujar Putri Ajastri tersedu. (A few months later, Palopa walks around Terra Aloska’s largest lake. He meets a girl who is sad. The girl turns out to be the beloved daughter of the Terra Aloska king. “Princess, why are you crying?” Palopa asks. “My father is very ill, he is lying in bed. All known healers have come, no one can cure him,” says Princess Ajastri in tears.)
Palopa pun teringat pesan suara gema beberapa waktu lalu. Ia pun menggunakan rendaman biji anggur untuk mengobati sang Raja Aloska. Tanpa disangka, Raja Aloska sembuh dari sakitnya. Palopa pun diangkat menjadi menantu sang Raja. Tak berapa lama, karena kepandaian dan keksatriaannya, Palopa pun diangkat menjadi Raja Aloska. (Palopa then remembers the echoing voice he heard. He then uses the water soaked in the grape seed to cure the King of Terra Aloska. Miraculously, the King is healed. Palopa then becomes the king son in law. Not long after, due to his courage and chivalry, Palopa becomes the King of Aloska.)
