Di Indonesia, perayaan Hari Ibu diperingati setiap tanggal 22 Desember. Namun ternyata, setiap negara memiliki tanggal yang berbeda untuk memperingati Hari Ibu, lho, Kids.

Inggris
Warga Inggris menyebut Hari Ibu dengan Mothering Sunday. Peringatan ini mulai dirayakan sejak abad ke-18, setiap Minggu keempat periode Lent (pra-paskah). Hal ini membuat tanggal Mothering Sunday tidak tetap. Nah, Hari Ibu ini juga dianggap acara keagamaan, karena dirayakan pula di gereja. Pihak gereja biasanya memberikan seikat bunga kepada anak-anak, lalu mereka memberikan bunga tersebut kepada Ibu sebagai tanda terima kasih.
Britain
The British refer the Mother’s Day as Mothering Sunday. This celebration started from the 18th century, every fourth week of the Lent (pre-Easter) period. This is why Mothering Sunday doesn’t have a fixed date. Well, this version of Mother’s Day ties closely with religion since the church also celebrates it. The church normally gives hand bouquets to the children, and the children would give them to their mothers as a sign of gratitude.

Negara Sakura menyebut Hari Ibu dengan “Haha no Hi”. Pertama kali dirayakan pada akhir zaman Meiji sekitar tahun 1915. Memasuki masa Showa, perayaan Hari Ibu ditetapkan pada tanggal 6 Maret karena merupakan hari ulang tahun Permaisuri Kojun (ibu Kaisar Akihito). Pada tahun 1949, Hari Ibu di Jepang mulai mengikuti kebiasaan di negara barat dan dirayakan setiap minggu kedua bulan Mei. Anak-anak biasanya memberikan bunga anyelir yang menjadi simbol cinta kasih, kepada sang Ibu.
Japan
The land of Cherry Blossoms celebrate Mother’s Day as “Haha no Hi.” It was first celebrated during the end of the Meiji era, around 1915. In the early Showa era, Mother’s Day celebration is set on March 6 because it coincides with the birthday of Empress Kojun (Emperor Akihito’s mother). In 1949, Mother’s Day in Japan began to follow the one celebrated by Western Countries, which is on the second Sunday of May. Children normally give carnation flowers as a sign of love to their mothers.
Meksiko
Setiap tanggal 10 Mei, Meksiko memperingati Hari Ibu dengan sangat meriah. Mereka merayakannya dengan memakai baju berwarna cerah. Gereja juga akan membuat acara khusus untuk para Ibu. Pagi hari, gereja-gereja tersebut akan memasak makanan tradisional “tamales” dan “atole” untuk diberikan pada ibu-ibu di sekitar gereja. Beberapa sekolah juga mengadakan acara khusus di mana anak-anak akan bernyanyi dan membuat pentas drama untuk Ibu mereka.
Mexico
Every may 10th, Mexico celebrates Mother’s Day very jubilantly. They celebrate by wearing bright-colored clothes. The church would also hold special events for the mothers. In the morning, the church would provide the traditional food tamales and atole to be given to mothers around the church’s neighborhood. Some schools also hold special events where children would sing and present a play for their mothers.
