Dia memiliki hutang. (Once upon a time in the kingdom of Daha, there lived a powerful Brahmin named Sidi Mantra. He was blessed with a boy named Manik Angkeran. Manik Angkeran was a handsome, dashing, and smart young man who loved to gamble. He had so many debts.)

(Sidi Mantra pleaded for help to the gods. “Go to the crater of Mount Agung, and meet a dragon named Besukih. Ask it to give you some of his treasure,” whispered the voice.)

(“What is it Brahmin that you come to this crater?” asked the Besukih Dragon. “My son is in debt and I don’t have the money to pay them off,” said Sidi Mantra. Then gold and diamonds came out from Besukih Dragon’s scales.)

(Sidi Mantra was finally able to pay his son’s debt hoping that his son won’t gamble anymore. However, Manik Angkeran still gambled and drowned in debt. “My son, I can’t help you anymore!” said Sidi Mantra firmly.)

(Manik Angkeran received the information that his father got the treasure from the Mount Agung. Manik Angkeran went to the crater of Mount Agung. “I’ll give you what you wish for, but you have to promise me that you’ll stop gambling. If not, you’ll get karma!” said Besukih Dragon.)

(Gold, diamonds, and gems scattered out from Besukih Dragon’s body. But then Manik Angkeran immediately cut Besukih Dragon’s tail because he wanted more treasure. Besukih Dragon was managed to lick Manik Angkeran’s shadow and burned him into ashes.)

Kematian anaknya membuat Sidi Mantra sedih. Ia pun menemui Naga Besukih memohon anaknya dihidupkan kembali. (The death of his son made Sidi Mantra sad. Then he met Besukih Dragon and pleaded to it to revive his son. The dragon agreed but its tail must be restored. Manik Angkeran was revived. He apologized and promised to be a good son.)

(However, Sidi Mantra didn’t want to live with his son anymore. Sidi Mantra made a line to separate them. Sidi Mantra disappeared, and the water arose and formed a strait. It is now known as the Bali Strait that separates the island of Java and Bali.)
